Character Artwork Kingdom of Adara Series - Kiara & Aidan

One thing that is very common these days in the book world is accompanying character art. Being a self-published, indie author, funding is limited and I have to prioritize the items I need and weigh the costs against any potential benefit. Artwork was one of those items that I had to pass on before. But now that I am back in the world of social media I saw a video from a creator on TikTok stating she was going to lose her job and was looking to take on commissions and make her hobby a career. I am always amazed at what artists can create from simply their own imagination and their hands. Drawing is not a talent I possess.

So, when I saw kenziescozybooktok video I immediately reached out to her. She responded and we quickly set off on the author/artist collaboration process. Having never done this before, I was very pleased with the ease at which Kenzie communicated with me and how she listened to my notes. The final product is absolutely gorgeous and gave my characters an approachability I could never impart on them. I am completely obsessed with the dress and crown she designed for Kiara - our ghost princess, aka the Breaker of Souls. And the kind sparkle in Aidan's eyes is exactly how he is. That man just wants the world to be safe, and for Kiara to always be by his side in it. He is the quintessential good guy and Kenzie captured that.

At the end of this author/artist process, I am so beyond pleased with the reults and I am happy to share this with all of you - the readers. This may not be how you envisioned Kiara and Aidan in your minds and that is okay. But I sure hope you enjoy this special look into my head and how I see the world. The background is dark and that is how I described it to Kenzie. I told her I see these characters in a bleak world, cold and dark. She gave me exactly what I asked for and I hope this helps bring these characters to life for you, as they have sparked to life for me.
